This Week In Media 7/30/13

Image description

Even though we are getting closer to the season when good movies start to come out the quality of these films aren’t getting any better. But there is some good to come from This Week In Media. Just keep reading.

New This Week:

In Theatres

2 Guns

This movie was actually created to reunite Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson before they chose to do The Internship, naturally Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg are the next best thing. Luckily for me I’m a huge Denzel fan and Wahlberg has made some solid stuff. I know it’s almost certainly going to be bad but I’m almost certain it will be fun, especially if they keep some of the jokes they originally wrote for it.

The Smurfs 2

The only good thing about this movie was that it was a sponsor on the hood of Ryan Newman’s Brickyard winning #39 Chevy machine this past weekend.

Backstreet Boys - In a World Like This

For some reason I picture, whatever the blonde dude’s name is, as someone with a big gut and a redneck beard at this point?

Five Finger Death Punch - The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1

I won’t be buying this one but I hear these guys on the radio quite a bit so somebody is. Not that they are awful. They have some good stuff they just aren’t album purchase worthy.

Queue Boosters:

Doug Benson - Super Tournament of Championships

$1.99 in the iTunes store but if you are a Benson or DLM fan it’s well worth it. Jon Hamm, Sam Levine, and Matt Braunger compete to five points in the Leonard Maltin Game. It’s both fun and quite funny.

Cabin in the Woods

I just rewatched this the other night. I still don’t want to talk about it, just trust me and watch it already it’s on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Breaking Bad

The next time I write this will be two days after Season 5 returns for the close of the series. If you aren’t caught up plan accordingly it’s going to be a hell of a ride.
